Hi there! I’m Kathleen Anderson, the Principal Designer of Material Design, an Austin Texas and Chattanooga Tennessee based, full-service interior design and window treatment firm.

Interior Design For Construction
3-D modeling, cabinet plans, and custom specification packages thoroughly designed to bring clarity and efficiency to every step of the building process. Modeling the project before construction allows us to anticipate and problem solve issues in the planning stage, and reduces your stress on the job site.
Design Kit for Builders
Taking the headache out of the selection process, our two curated interior specifications include: PDF mood boards, complete selection schedules (lighting, plumbing, hardware, tile, countertops, interior door style, cabinet door style), and a live excel spreadsheet you can utilize for internal budgeting and project management. Selections are based on a typical 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath house.
Express Interior Design for Construction
A hybrid solution for builders needing an affordable specification package with more customization than our design kit. We customize one of our design kit packages to your plans. Upgrade includes: plumbing wall elevations, kitchen layout, and light plan markups.
Window Treatments
Our design practice has taught us that window treatments are a cornerstone element in a finished space. The privacy and light control functionality are key, and the textural design element add a finishing touch to any room
